In a contemporary jolt to the BJP, Dr Mukesh Verma, MLA from Shikohabad Assembly constituency here, on Thursday resigned from the key membership of the bash alleging ‘lack of respect’ by the federal government towards backward classes and Dalits.
Verma is the seventh legislator, which includes two ministers, to have resigned from the BJP around the past three times.
Due to the fact the voices of the backward classes, Dalits, unemployed youth, traders of medium and modest scale industries and shopkeepers among others are being dismissed, I am resigning from the key membership of the bash, Verma mentioned in a letter to BJP point out president Swatantra Dev Singh.
He said he will continue the ‘fight for justice’ beneath Other Backward Classes (OBC) chief Swami Prasad Maurya.
Maurya, soon after resigning from the Yogi Adityanath-led cabinet on Tuesday, had alleged “gross neglect” by the BJP towards Dalits, backward classes, farmers, unemployed youth and modest traders.
Verma, also an OBC chief, also despatched a copy of the letter to the party’s nationwide president JP Nadda.
There are speculations that he will sign up for the Samajwadi Social gathering (SP).
In the current previous, Verma had achieved SP leaders amid rumours that the BJP would not discipline him in the approaching polls.
