National Fishworkers Forum warns Samundhar Bandh; support farmers’ strike

National Fishworkers Discussion board has threatened to go for a Samundhar Bandh, if the authorities did not shell out heed to farmers’ desire.

Becoming a member of the call given by farmers to repeal the freshly enacted farm guidelines, Narendra R.Patil, Chairperson, NFF demanded the authorities to withdraw the new farm guidelines. The Discussion board also referred to as on all fishworkers unions in the coast to sign up for the wrestle with farmers.

NFF alleged that these guidelines are anti-farmer in character and spirit, and will efficiently assist the corporates in the type of agri-business to loot the country’s purely natural resources, even raise the corporate’s margin of income.

The discussion board does not see the present wrestle in isolation and calls for broader alliances and even more steps, if the authorities does not relent to the demands of the farmers. It hoped that the authorities will immediately prevent its repressive strategies to suppress farmer’s protests throughout the state, the arbitrary imposition of false situations and arrests on farmer leaders and activists.
